try running a cycle without cloths in it just bleach.I have a horrible mildew smell coming from washing machine. Clothes are fine when washed.?
Hi, I had this very same problem and ironically my friend is a Maytag man. The majority of people who tried running a empty load with baking soda, the same you use for refrigerator odor, seemed to have the problem resolved. Vinager also helps but left my machine smelling like a pickle. Good luck!
First - check for leaks under the machine %26amp; behind it. A tiny leak can leave enough dampness to cause a mildew smell. Second run an empty wash with hot water. Third if you still have the smell, run another empty wash adding baking soda %26amp; vinegar to the water. That is what it took to fix my smelly washer a few months ago. When I read the baking soda %26amp; vinegar solution it was reccommended to not overload the machine or leave clothes lying in it for a long time after washing to prevent it from happening again.
just simply unscrew the hoses from the back of your washer, and let out all the excess water.. the water stays in your hose for periods of time, which leads to mildew smell..(be sure to turn of your supply line before removing the hose)
Just leave the door open a few days or use a fan if you are in a hurry. It must dry out between washing that are spaced out by 24 hours!
Look under and behind the machine. I'd be willing to bet there was some standing water underneath and it created mildew. Should you find that, that's your problem, it is easily cleaned up with bleach %26amp; water solution.
Leave it open after use so that it dries out completely, and maybe run an empty load with some vinegar in it.
run a wash cycle without anything but soap 1/4 cup, and bleach 1/2 cup. and when you finish the wash in the future leave the lid open until the next day at least. what is happening is the moisture inside the machine isn't drying out. good luck.
